[Economy Focus] The secret of Bill Gates' Success

When Bill Gates first established Microsoft after dropping out of Harvard University, nobody predicted that his company will become the world's best IT company putting IBM and DEC behind. When Jeff Bezos of Amazone.com first started his online bookstore business in a rent garage in a rural area, nobody forecasted that it would be a prelude of new distribution innovation.

Challenge to the existing system with new idea

Many examples like Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos can be found in other countries with advanced international competitiveness. They have succeeded with their new innovative ideas and won in competence with the old market system. Foundation background of Microsoft and Amazone.com provides fair rules to those people who are ready to accept new idea and changes and ready to challenge to the old market system. The United States' second economic renaissance in 1990s through development of IT industry lies in the social atmosphere that actively accepted and supported people, who led changes. The strongest point of the United States is not the biggest military strength or not the wide continent with abundant resources. Social atmosphere promoted new ideas and returned compensation to people who worked hard and succeeded and it is the atmosphere led the renaissance in the U.S. Fair environment should be provided for the youth with strong adventurous spirit and who are dreaming to be a millionaire to compete. Youth can never win in competence with powerful companies or people without such an environment. If they cannot compete in fair and impartial environment, those youth cannot even think to fight for their success with considering their conditions. Countries and civilizations vanished away in the history denied to accept new changes and challenges. They regarded people with new ideas heresy secretly. Several countries and companies from South America and the Middle East, that denied accepting new ideas and challenges, vanished away with loss of competitiveness in the world. We are facing new changes that we never experienced in the past rapidly. In an era of a change, people with new idea and paradigm are necessary. Social atmosphere and sympathy that makes society prefer innovative ideas and new points of view are needed. Some express anxiety toward new idea and paradigm due to the fast and uncertain change. Young generations who are responsible for our future are confused because of the uncertainty. We need to show an example of hopeful future to them. We need to make the rules of competition fair, with encouraging and giving privilege to those people who are leading change. New technology and product can be created and national competitiveness will be enhanced, by promoting diversity and new idea.

Giving privilege to people who are leading the change

The word 'Homo-Knowledgian' was created when the civilian government ruled over our country. The word was created to value new idea and ventures but we failed to make new growth engine even though social atmosphere was supporting the idea. To make a new growth engine, shift of fundamental idea is needed, and creating new growth engine with only several Homo-Knowledgians is impossible. Like Christopher Columbus and Thomas Edison, people with new ideas and knowledge played a role as a motive power to make their countries lead the world. If we accept diversity and new things naturally, and if we set the rule for fair competition up, our society can produce many men of great success because youth with hope and dreams will do their best to make their life success.
